When reporting on a village in Greenland that is being threatened by the possibility of melting glaciers causing tsunamis, a Fox New reporter admitted that, "climate change has also sped up that process" of the melting glaciers. Our global population is growing at such a rapid pace that we cannot use a resource that is not sustainable. And that means biodegradable. Plastic cannot biodegrade. Not ever. CNN NEWS REPORT: STARBUCKS DITCHES STRAWS

Starbucks has taken a step in the right direction and has vowed to ban all plastic straws by 2020! The decision was based around reudcing plastic pollution. They are planning on using cold cup strawless lids and biodegradable straws, which will save around a billion straws a year at their 29,000 locations.
